Voices of Light is Richard Einhorn’s powerful oratorio performed to Carl Th. Dreyer’s 1928 silent film masterpiece “La Passion de Jeanne d’Arc”.
Voices of Light takes place in the Auditorium at the Detroit Institute of Arts, 5400 Woodward Avenue, Detroit. Patrons can enter the John R entrance to the Auditorium. Tickets are $25. Auditions for Valley Concert Chorale
April performance features Durufle’s “Requiem”
Livermore, Calif. – The Valley Concert Chorale, the Tri-Valley’s premier chorus, will hold auditions by appointment for their April and May concerts on the following dates:
Monday, February 4, and Open Rehearsal
Monday, February 11
Auditions and rehearsals will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Livermore. The church is located at 2020 Fifth Street. Rehearsals will begin February 4, at 7pm.
The Chorale, now in its 49th season, will perform Durufle’s Requiem and Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna in April, and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with the Livermore Amador Symphony at the Bankhead Theater in May.
The Chorale is seeking experienced singers with sight-reading skills who enjoy singing exciting and challenging music. The Chorale performs a wide variety of music ranging from classical to contemporary, and folk to jazz. To schedule an appointment, call (925) 462-4205.

The Valley Concert Chorale, now in its 49th season, is the Tri-Valley’s premier chorus. Under the direction of John Emory Bush, the Chorale has offered a variety of musical performances to serve the diverse musical tastes of its audiences.
Valley Concert Chorale’s mission is to engage audiences in the transforming power of music by sharing their passion and joy in live performance. About the Director
John Emory Bush has been the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Valley Concert Chorale since 1998. He holds a Master’s degree from the Juilliard School of Music and is also trained as a pianist, organist and harpist. In addition, he is the Music Director and Conductor of the San Francisco Concert Chorale and former Director of Music for St. Matthew's Cathedral in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Bush was recently appointed Principal Organist at First United Methodist Church, McKinney, Texas. For the past twelve years, Mr. Bush has divided his time between the Bay Area and Dallas, contributing to both musical communities.
