Pacific Chorale’s 24-voice professional chamber choir, the John Alexander Singers, present a tribute to Joan of Arc on the 600th anniversary of her birth, including works by Josquin des Prez and Leonard Bernstein, and David Lang’s The Little Match Girl Passion.

The John Alexander Singers return to the beautiful San Juan Capistrano Mission Basilica in a tribute to the 600th birthday of Joan of Arc, including music from the world the French national heroine would have known, contemporary works inspired by her extraordinary life and tragic death, and an encore performance of David Lang’s Pulitzer Prize-winning The Little Match Girl Passion, in a new staging by James Taulli that will then travel to France for the work's Paris premiere in summer 2012. Works include selections from the Missa de Beata Virgine of Josquin des Prez, Allegri’s Miserere, and Leonard Bernstein’s choruses from The Lark. Artistic Director John Alexander conducts. $30 general admission; $55 premium seating. Visit http://www.pacificchorale.org/concerts_and_events/season_concerts_and_ti... or call (714) 662-2345.
