LOS ROBLES MASTER CHORALE
In the final concert of the season, Los Robles Master Chorale will present “Mostly Mozart” at 8 p.m., Sat., May 5 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1600 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.
The chorale will present masterworks of the choral repertoire by Mozart, Haydn, and Verdi under the direction of artistic director Lesley Leighton.
Mostly Mozart will feature musical settings of Latin texts including Mozart’s “Requiem,” performed with organist Kimo Smith and guest soloists Tamara Bevard, Leslie Inman, Daniel Chaney, and Abdiel Gonzalez.The program will also present Haydn’s “Te Deum” and Verdi’s “Stabat Mater,” as well as the premiere of one of the winning compositions in the chorale’s annual Young Artist Choral Composers Competition.
A 7 p. m. free pre- concert conversation will offer background information about the music. Audience members can meet the performers at a postconcert reception.
Advance tickets are $22 for adults and $15 for students and seniors, with group rates available. At the door, tickets will be $25 for adults and $15 for seniors/students. A $10 student rush with valid picture I.D. will be offered one hour before the performance.
