Houston Choral Showcase will give two show choir performances on June 16 at the St. John’s School Lowe Theater, featuring popular songs from the past 80 years. Tickets for this performance are $15 at the door, with discount pricing for advance purchase or groups of eight or more. In celebration of its 80th anniversary, the Houston Choral Showcase 2012 spring repertoire features songs all the way from its first year ("It Don't Mean A Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing" written in 1932) to recent hip-hop ("Dynamite"), with a taste of many other genres along the way. Audience members will be treated to an entertaining journey through popular music history.
Two performances of "Eight Decades of Song" are offered on Saturday, June 16, at 3pm and 7:30pm. The venue is the Lowe Theater at St. John's School, 2707 Buffalo Speedway, Houston TX 77098. Tickets (good for either performance) are $15 at the door, with discount pricing for advance purchase or advance booking of groups of eight or more. Seating is not assigned and doors to the seated area open about 30 minutes before showtime. Parking is free.
