The Chorus America Distinguished Service Award is given by Chorus America to a member whose long-term service to the choral field is judged to have significantly furthered the organization’s mission “to build a dynamic and inclusive choral community so that more people are transformed by the beauty and power of choral singing.” This individual’s contributions may have been made in either a professional or volunteer capacity.
Nomination Process
- Nominations are solicited from the entire Chorus America membership. Self nominations are not accepted.
- Letters of nomination must be written by a member of Chorus America.
- The letter of nomination should include the nominee’s curriculum vitae and a statement outlining specific achievements that qualify the individual for consideration.
- Two (2) letters of recommendation in support of each nominee are required. These letters may be sent separately and need not be written by Chorus America members.
- Letters of nomination received without two letters of recommendation will not be considered.
Selection Process
- The recipient will be selected by a committee of Chorus America officers comprised of the Chair (or Chair’s designate), Treasurer, Secretary, and either the Immediate Past Chair or the Chair-Elect.
- The Chorus America Distinguished Service Award is not an annual award. It will be given at the discretion of the officers.
- An individual may receive this award only once.
