Chorus/organization name: Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh Category: Administrative Duties and responsibilities: As Head of Development - Create and realize comprehensive fundraising strategies, for both the upcoming season and the long term - Design, actualize and/or effectively outsource the execution of individual donor campaigns, special events, and a capital campaign - Identify, cultivate and close new donors—public, foundation, and corporate— in tandem with the board and/or subcontractors - Move existing donors (individual, foundation and corporate) to higher levels of commitment - Prepare or supervise prep of foundation and government reports As Operations Manager - secure rehearsal & performance venues - Create job descriptions, hire, train, and monitor support staff - Negotiate contracts with , partner organizations, presenters, and artists - Recruit, direct, support, and train volunteers - Supervise the chorus manager - Secure required equipment, licenses, and permits As Financial Manager - Manage financial operations in accordance with approved budget and governmental and tax regulations - With the music director, prepare annual operating budgets - Monitor budget line items, coordinate expense allocations with book keeper - Prepare monthly projections, including cash flow - Prepare and present annual budget variance analysis As Board Liaison - Maintain regular communications with individual board members to foster healthy and participatory board/staff interaction - Provide supporting information and resources as needed to enable board members to fulfill their responsibilities - Work with the board and music director to write and implement strategic plan - Establish, train and guide committees as needed to implement and supplement fund-raising, marketing, and other efforts - With the board, evaluate progress toward goals on a regular basis - Assist in identifying and recruiting new board members - Assist president in preparing the agenda for board meetings As Representative & Business Contact - Develop and maintain positive relationships within the arts community - Represent the MCP at community functions, and with the media, government agencies, corporate community, foundations, educational community and any group of potential supporters As Communications Coordinator - Establish a comprehensive PR & marketing plan - Increase the public, corporate, foundation, and governmental awareness of MCP - Oversee ticket sales for self-produced concerts - Create metrics to assess effectiveness of PR & marketing dollars - Continue to develop our presence on the web - Generate feature stories in print and broadcast media about the choir Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - College degree, master’s or equivalent experience - Experience in fundraising/development and arts management - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Demonstrated facility with Microsoft Office - A passion for choral singing PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience or training in financial or accounting analysis and budgeting - marketing experience - Experience or training with Quickbooks Compensation: $50,000 - $60,000 Benefits: Please Inquire Chorus/organization description: The Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh is a versatile 115 voice chorus with a 20 voice professional core.
