Job title: Administrative Director Chorus/organization name: The Thomas Circle Singers Category: Administrative Duties and responsibilities: Responsible for the general administrative support of the Thomas Circle Singers (TCS). Report to the board of directors, work closely with the artistic director to ensure the efficient functioning of the TCS office, the board, and the success of each concert season. Act as a primary point of contact for TCS and promote the mission of the organization. Major roles are office management (clerical duties, database management, volunteer coordination), board support (correspondence, coordination of materials and reports, master calendar, meeting notices and deadline reminders) and concert support (audition scheduling, concert venue research, customer service, assistance with concerts and events). This is an approximately quarter-time position with flexible hours that will vary during the year. Telecommuting part of the time is possible. Attendance at concerts, events and board meetings is required (minimal evening and weekend hours involved). Requirements: Organized self-starter with excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Strong oral and written communication skills; excellent customer service skills; computer proficiency (word processing, spreadsheet, database management) required. Familiarity with accounting software and website maintenance a plus. Experience with non-profit management and knowledge of music preferred. Compensation: $10,000-$12,000 Benefits: Two weeks paid vacation Chorus/organization description: TCS is an independent chamber choir that performs an annual concert season of varied repertoire. Each year, a large portion of concert ticket proceeds is given to social service beneficiaries in the District of Columbia. TCS was named a Washingtonian of the Year 2000 by Washingtonian Magazine, and artistic director James Kreger has been honored with WETA-FM's Hometown Hero award.
