REGISTER NOW Mary Ann de Barbieri - Mary Ann de Barbieri uses her thirty years of nonprofit management experience to help nonprofit organizations achieve their organizational goals. She was associated with The Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C. for sixteen years, serving as managing director from 1981 through 1990. Prior to opening de Barbieri & Associates in 1994, she was director of the Washington, D.C. office of The Foundation Center. Mary Ann chairs the selection committee for the Washington Post Grants in the Arts program and was a trainer for the Washington Post Distinguished Educational Leadership Award seminars. She is the immediate past-president of the board of directors of the Washington, D.C. region’s Center for Nonprofit Advancement ( CNA) and was a member of the award selection committee for CNA’s Washington Post Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management from 1995 through 1999, serving as committee chair from 1997 to 1999. A frequent speaker and trainer for local, regional and national organizations, Mary Ann has served as an adjunct professor in the arts management graduate program at The American University in Washington, D.C. Corty Fengler - Corty Fengler is the Canon for Development at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. Her 25 year career in philanthropy has included work both as a development officer and as a consultant. She served as Director of Development for the San Francisco Symphony and for the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center during its campaign. Her work with Wellesley College was during the largest campaign a liberal arts college had mounted at that time, and she was also Director of Development for Westover School. She is Senior Associate with John Brown Limited, a leader in the fields of planned giving and capital campaigns. As a consultant she has provided comprehensive management consulting services to non-profits such as the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston and many choruses, orchestras and schools. She has served on national committees for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, the Alumnae Board of Wellesley College, and the Board of the Association of California Symphony Orchestras. She currently heads the Development Committee of Chorus America's Board and sings with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus. Tom Luhnow - Tom served as Executive Director of Seattle Men's Chorus & Seattle Women's Chorus for 12 years, following an eight-year stint in Washington, D.C. running a foundation there, and a 12-year career in management at SAFECO. As a corporate executive, Tom specialized in start-up operations, turning around less profitable departments, and had nationwide responsibility for a two-year management training program. Tom has served on various nonprofit boards and frequently serves on panels to help other choruses in better marketing, fundraising, and board development techniques. He is currently a self-employed consultant to non-profit organizations. Mark Ohnmacht- Over the past twenty-five years, Mark W. Ohnmacht has served as an executive manager, marketer and fundraiser with a number of performing arts ensembles. In June 2006 he retired after a ten-year tenure as executive director of the Cathedral Choral Society, the 240-voice resident symphonic chorus of Washington National Cathedral. Prior to his time there, he served as executive director of the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra in Northern Virginia from 1987-1996. His previous appointments include: general manager of the Nassau Symphony Orchestra in Garden City, New York; executive director of the Contemporary Music Forum (in residence at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC); and general manager of the Prince George’s Philharmonic in Riverdale, Maryland. Mr. Ohnmacht is a faculty member for Chorus America’s Chorus Management Institute and has lectured on arts administration topics at Florida State, George Mason, George Washington and Georgetown Universities. His consulting clients include Freddie Mac, the Cantate Chamber Singers (MD), the Canticle Singers of Baltimore, the Children’s Chorus of Washington, Choral Arts Society of Washington, Eclipse Chamber Orchestra, Masterworks Chorus of the Shenandoah Valley (VA), Santa Clara (CA) Chorale, Washington Concert Opera, Washington Stage Guild and Vocal Arts Society. Mr. Ohnmacht is an active professional musician and for the last twenty years has been the Organist/Choir Director at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Arlington, Virginia. An avid theater goer, Mr. Ohnmacht has participated for many years as a judge for the prestigious Helen Hayes Awards, Washington, D.C.’s regional theater awards. Nancy Roberts - Nancy has 20 years of experience in marketing, public relations, research, publications production, community outreach and project management for non-profit organizations, including the GRAMMY- winning Chanticleer, San Jose Symphony, OPERA America and the New England Foundation for the Arts. She holds a bachelor’s degree in History and a master’s in French Literature from George Washington University, and is completing her GreenMBA at Dominican University. She is a partner in GreenYourManagement, a sustainability consulting firm. Nancy is also a free-lance arts marketing consultant and currently serves as chair of the development committee for the Alliance Francaise de San Francisco. Kelly Ruggirello - Kelly Ruggirello is the President and CEO for Pacific Chorale. Her extensive experience in fundraising (raising over $43 million during the course of her career), public relations, marketing, operations, and education combined with a vocal performance background won her the position following a nation-wide search. Prior to Pacific Chorale, Ms. Ruggirello served as Vice President of Development & Public Relations at the Orange County High School of the Arts. During that time, she increased the annual fundraising and marketing budget from $500,000 to $4 million annually and directed a $23 million capital campaign to relocate the campus. Due to organizational re-structuring especially in the areas of marketing and development, Pacific Chorale has enjoyed a balanced budget for the last four fiscal years, with an 86% increase in contributed revenue and 50% increase in ticket revenue. Ms. Ruggirello has served as a leader in education, development, and publicity for organizations including the Pacific Symphony and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. She currently provides fundraising and arts education consulting services to orchestra, arts schools, and choruses nationally. |
